For All Malagasy Students
Founded in 2014 by Clifford Duong, Anjiro Initiative is dedicated to breaking barriers to education in Madagascar. For 12 years, we’ve partnered with families, educators, and other organizations to ensure that children and young people—especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds—can go to school and thrive.
Through partnerships with schools, local organizations, and international allies, we not only cover tuition fees but also strengthen educational opportunities that open doors to lasting change. Our efforts have been recognized on the global stage at the United Nations Civil Society Conference in Kenya and the UN Summit of the Future in New York, where we advocated for the voices of Malagasy students.
Every donation goes directly to support students’ education—fueling hope, opportunity, and a brighter future.
Join us as we proudly support Madagascar’s next generation—together, we can break barriers to education.
What We Do
Anjiro Initiative supports Malagasy students no matter who they are or where they are in their academic journey. From the young child in the rural community of Anjiro who finishes their homework by candlelight to the university student in Tana who is looking to author her first scientific publication for an international journal, our organization contributes to the betterment of all Malagasy youth by partnering with their families and loved ones to provide them with the resources they need to succeed.
Our Services
Since 2014, Anjiro Initiative has supported thousands of students by granting scholarships through its 2 key programs: the Anjiro Scholarship Program and the University Program.
